OK, here’s whatsup about the DJing on Thursday 1/26. Vegan Drinks is where it’s at. I went for the first time last month and it was a bunch of vegans hanging out. The booze is affordable. The snacks are all vegan and delicious. There was a raffle basket from Vegan Bodega that had a Sweet & Sara snowman in it that looked amazing.
Vegan Drinks is always at Angels and Kings, 500 E. 11th St. in the East Village. This is the same jawn Stefan from Weekend Update reviewed on Yelp. I haven’t watched SNL in years so I guess that means it’s cool. I am going to play post-anachronistic hangout jams, and probably some Heart if the mood is right. It is probably the last Vegan Drinks before Valentines Day after all.
So come and tear it up in the Village with us next Thursday fam.

Lauren Bloomberg found a number of places in NYC that serve avocados in ways OTHER than guacamole. But to be honest, we’d like to dip these avocado fries in some guac. Can never have too much avocado

Uhhh I am a vegan and have been going to Chipotle for years. I have ALWAYS known that the pinto beans are not vegetarian. This is the type of dude that gives vegans a bad name.

Thoughts on Giffords and Guns
My heart’s goin’ out to those who need it in the wake of what happened in Arizona. This country is whack and the second amendment should be repealed. Nobody needs guns, nobody should kill animals for sport, nothing really needs to die at the hands of anybody else. We should all hold hands and stay strong and be together as human beings instead of hating on each other. It will never happen but I like to say it because I am a secret hippie.
I hope this pseudo-gaff on the part of Team Palin prevents Sarah from running in 2012.
Got A Girl Crush On: Rep. Gabrille Giffords
Not only was she the youngest woman (and first Jew) elected to Arizona senate (at age 30), she is also a huge pro-biking advocate. Our thoughts go out to Gabrille and her family in her recovery!!

Giffords herself rides a custom-made bike with her name in western-style rope on the top tube and an Arizona flag. A member of the Congressional Bike Caucus, she bike commutes to the Capitol from her home in Washington.
She admits “she’ll yell at motorists who pull out in front of her or cut her off when she is on her bike and but says most of the time they don’t mean to do it, they are in their own world and aren’t looking for cyclists”. (full article)
