Well hello there! I’ve been super-busy lately, working full-time at MEI and still freelancing on evenings and weekends. Today I am taking pics at Trenton Avenue Arts Fest for the Star, and tonight I am going to Sharky’s in Williamstown, NJ for the Courier-Post. At MEI I am currently way up in Drupal. I like it!
For the month of June I will have some photos up at Joshua’s Cafe and Catering in Jenkintown, PA. Here, have a Google map (and while you’re there, have a grilled veggie wrap. mmmmmmm):
No opening this time, since it costs money there and I can’t afford it. Which reminds me, Thank you to Melissa and 1Shot coffee for an awesome show in… January. Yeah!!!!!
Finally, check out my article on Achievements in ABV Excellence in this week’s City Paper. More to come next week, maybe even a Web version of the Joshua’s flyer.
New Year
January 3rd, 2008
I disabled comments again: they look ugly when you click through and nobody uses them. If someone really needs to get back at me they can use the contact form. Also, I extended that sidebar using faux columns. Now it goes all the way to the bottom of the page, woohoo!
I’m coming together with some ideas for photo projects in the upcoming year. Nothing is really set in stone yet, but I’d like to do one that is Philly-centric and another that requires travel to wondrous, nature-y places. That second one may wait till the Spring, but I really should get in gear on project 1.
Of course, my show opens this Sunday and I can’t really think about projects yet. I also have to build a fairly complicated e-commerce site with accompanying shopping cart and order form. That’s going to take a lot of time and specification as well. Basically I am stressing out like crazy! Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
Show at 1 Shot!

Yes!! My first “real” show opens at 1 Shot Coffee on Jan. 6, 2 pm. There are some promotional postcards floating about with a photo of Mt. Rainier. The image above is what I designed on the back, map and all. It was a little bit of Photoshop for the 4by6.com template and A LOT of Illustrator for the map inset. You can pick one up at 1 Shot or let me know if you would like a few. All I ask is if you use them for campfire kindling that you cook veg.
Just like last year, I woke up on Christmas morning with a cold. Instead of drinking White Russians and plunging myself in to lonely Jew oblivion, Jess and I went to see “Juno.” It was cute and charming and Jennifer Garner makes fun of Jason Bateman’s “Superunknown” t-shirt. Plus there’s mad Kimya Dawson on the soundtrack. Go Kimya go!
Clog on!
December 20th, 2007
Some pictures from the Spring Garden Market I took this morning are on City Paper’s Clog right now! Thanks to Drew for the e-props.
Of course, after the jump you may want to ask: “Hey James, if you’re so vegan why are you taking photos of fish in captivity and Pork Bellie?” Well, I am not some stereotypical Earth Crisis-thumping vegangelical freak that refuses to take pictures of meat because the industry disgusts me. Personal politics do not mix well with fair and balanced coverage. Meat is always going to be there, so I’ll document it if I have to. You can eat it in front of me too, I don’t care. Just do what makes you happy!
I totally used some bad code and the form ended up sending emails to all of you instead of me. FORTUNATELY this is fixed now, so the contact form emails me and me alone. It will not email you.
I apologize for any inconvenience. Maybe later today I will get those comments working, but this is proving to be difficult.
I think I am going to enable comments on here. With Wordpress, this will take some hearty time with CSS. Apologies if things look a little whacked out now, but I don’t think I’m going to be messing too much with the container div. If they’re really whack fill out the contact form. Thanks!
Youtube Fridays!
December 14th, 2007
Judging from a 0% response rate from my contact form, I’m led to believe that NOBODY EVER VISITS THIS WEB SITE (echo…echo…echoooooo). If a tree falls on the internet and nobody’s around, I guess the tree is like “d33z n00bz jst pwnd m3!!11101101 Lolz!!!!”
Just looked at my Web stats and my current hits for December ‘07 are up to 666. That means it’s time for some EVIL YOUTUBE CANDY:
Hmm, doomsday imagery or a heavy dose of self-serving shoegazer fanaticism? You decide. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND.
Done… for now
December 10th, 2007
Yes, all links are working!
I’d really like to fix the sidebar so it extends all the way to the bottom of the blog. There are workarounds for this but I don’t really have the time right now. I’m going to be pretty busy over the next couple of weeks gearing up for my show at One Shot on Liberties Walk. I will have more information about this soon.
It’s a sidebar! The sidebar cometh! Maybe later today, but probably tomorrow afternoon!
The only link that works now is Portfolio. Check it out! The other links will be fixed soon.
Sidebare
December 3rd, 2007
OK, missing sidebar for the next ‘lil bit. I am ditching Wordpress’ sidebar widget in favor of hand-coded CSS without any unexpected results.
There’s also going to be a new “About” section coming in the next few days. All this blustery weather makes me wanna hole up in my room and do nothing all day. Booooooooooooo.
EDIT
It ‘aint broke but I’m fixing this whole navigation. IT MUST BE CONTAINED. Apologies for the CHAOS TO ENSUE.
